Capital Group has created Capital Group Art Foundation designed to do systematic work in the field of art: it is to organize and participate in important cultural events in Moscow.
Vladislav Doronin, chairman of the board, noted: “For over 10 years our company has been building up its own collection of modern art. Each of its items was carefully selected to fit a particular building or location. Gradually, it developed into a project of socially-significant project.”

The collection has had a significant impact on our company, its values, principles and practices. We did not just want to build, but we wanted our buildings to be original, elegant, modern and convenient.
Modern art always seeks to find new forms and new substance in everyday things. Capital Group has done a lot for it, that is why want to both do our business want and pursue cultural projects that help disseminate our common ideas.
The Expert Council of the Foundation includes Olga Sviblova, director of the Moscow House of Photography and Aidan Salakhova, a famous artist and director of Aidan Gallery. Both members of the Council believe that the project has a tremendous cultural value for the city.
“Capital Group has long been actively involved in social activities. I believe it is very significant that from now on they will be conducted on a regular basis. This indicates that the company has serious intentions and gives us hope for excellent results that can be achieved by a systemic approach that characterizes business and Capital Group’s invariable success in all of its projects,” said artist and gallerist Aidan Salakhova.
The first project of Capital Group Art Foundation was its involvement in Photobiennale 2010. On April, 7 2010 the multi-functional complex Capital City that has been opened for exhibitions is to host five unique projects by famous Russian and international photographers:
Garbiele Basilico: «Intercity».
Françoise Huguier: «Sublime».
Leonid Tishkov: «Private Moon. Trip to Paris».
Alina Gutkina: «Old School».
Natalia Nikitina: in memory of Dmitriy Alexandrovich Prigov
The list of artists above features accomplished masters of modern photography who are known for their unique style and expression. Each of the projects that have been put on display boasts its original genre: the collection by Gabriele Bazilico is devoted to urban daily routine, Leonid Tishkov has created a unique set of lunar sceneries. Francoise Huguier gives us an insight into the world of fashion. Alina Gutkina portrays modern teenagers while Natalia Nikitina tells us about poet Dmitriy Prigov.
According to Olga Sviblova, as an exhibition location, the multi-functional Capital City is in absolutely in tune with the conceptual message of the exhibited items: “Modern and dynamic, Capital City is an ideal place where art will be seen not simply as an element of décor, but as in integral part of its fundamental design. In my opinion, this is due both to its outstanding architecture and, most importantly, the emotional atmosphere that has been created by Capital Group.”
In the very near future, Capital Group Foundation will present its own cultural projects. In late April early May, Russia will host an exhibition of famous Belgian artist and sculptor Arne Cuinsi, in May it will launch projet Prix Pictet, in July-August it will put on display its own collection of modern art, the latter featuring young (Oksana Mas’, Mikhail Rozanov etc.) and internationally acclaimed artists (Anish Kapur, Jeff Kuns and others).
